Ville du Bois de Boulogne

Aerial view of the lay-out of the housing project. This early demonstration of the possibilities of Mobile Architecture meant to offer temporary housing as neighborhoods in Paris were upgraded to meet the modern sanitation demands.
It is a proposal for ”span-over” blocks sustained by a ”stair-case towers” with a distance of about 60 meters, over the Bois de Boulogne in Paris (France) with living quarters that could be adjusted to the wishes of the occupant. The building would have minimal impact on the site, not hindering the function of the park.
As Friedman was not yet familiar with Paris at the time, he did not foresee the fierce opposition to this idea.
